I was saddened to see that the New Age community and western adherents of Eastern spirituality, in general, overwhelmingly supported the hard core leftist, Barack Obama. Obama was born into a Marxist/socialist, America hating family and community and was mentored by Franklin Marshall Davis, whose virulent Marxism and anti-Americanism got him hauled before a Congressional investigation. I am a Vaishnav/Baptist who dutifully does his 16 rounds of the Mahamantra daily before sunrise but, politically, I am an outsider in the community of Krishna worshippers. I know that New Agers see America as the Great Satan and, in their counterculture manner, spontaneously gravitate to Marxist/Socialist philosophy of government. But I prefer the American revolution of Washington, Jefferson and Franklin that conferred on us freedom from government, freedom of thought, speech and worship.
